Sounds In Decay

(In Development) A sound and physical installation for gallery space.

A selection of composting material is made into a pile.  Probes are inserted.  Heat is generated by the decomposing matter.  The pile is left to decay over time.

Sounds respond to the changing state of the material as it goes through its cycle. Probes measuring the changing temperature stimulate an auditory soundscape, a composition generated directly by the ‘decomposition’.
